Dearsan accelerates procurement schedule for Turkish patrol vessels

Dearsan Shipyard is planning to launch the first of 16 New Type Patrol Boats for the Turkish Coast Guard in December 2009 or January 2010, up to six months earlier than stipulated in the procurement contract. The Istanbul-based company says the schedule will allow it to undertake initial sea trials before delivering the 56 m patrol vessel - pennant number P1200 - to the country's Naval Forces Command
