Turkey opts for Rotem as partner in MBT project

Seoul-based Rotem Company has been selected by the Turkish government to partner prime contractor Otokar in developing and producing up to 250 next-generation Turkish main battle tanks (MBTs). A source at the South Korean company confirmed to Jane's on 26 June that its XK2 MBT design had won the deal, beating Germany's Krauss Maffei Wegmann (KMW) to be the main foreign subcontractor in the programme.
